Just wanted to say thank you so much for creating this template and making it free to use!! <33 Me and some friends used this for a VN, everything was super easy to set up/modify and the concept of the menu being a book and just the overall style is so so cool!

Hi. Beautiful GUI. I am trying to use this GUI but I am having some issues. How did you do book options and load sections separately and do you have the slider's empty version by themself? When I downloaded sliders the scrollbars showed like blue rectangular. Like the picture below. I am doing my project in Unity.

Hi, the project uses imagemaps, not seperate gui elements and the rectengular image is a leftover from the default Ren'py GUI. The original vector files for the project unfortunately were lost when my computer went kaboom last year.

That said, I can't really help you, as I don't know how this template can be converted for Unity, I never used it. But I'm certain there's some way you can replicate the feature.

Thank you for taking your time and answering my questions. Sorry to hear that your computer kaboomed. I managed to find a way to use some of your GUI's elements. Thank you for this GUI again. May I ask what  Ren'py is ? I am new to these game-making shenanigans. I don't have a clue what it is about .

It's a game making engine, specifically for visual novels. You can check it out here.

Hello, I've been eyeing this template for a project of mine, and I was wondering if it'd be possible to add a voice slider. If so, how would I implement it in this template's particular code?

The way I'm doing this for my game is editing the menu images to have a voice slider instead of a sound slider (cause my game doesn't have SFX) and replacing the sound slider in the screens.rpy file with voice. You might be able to figure out a different solution if you need to have SFX as well but this is just what I'm doing. But you can think up your own solution, programming is all about problem solving :>

Gonna add a blank version of the prefs menu in case you or anyone needs to use it (i made it by copying the texture and covering the text lmao). I know this post is old but wanted to share in case anyone had the same question as you.

UPDATE: I changed it again to add another slider. I added another hotbar in the screens.rpy file in the middle of the other two and adjusted the images to match. I made a "sound volume" section and three bars underneath with small headers with music, sfx, or voice. Below is what I did. You can do something similar in your game if you need all three bars :D

This is really amazing, congrats! How can I use the second layout (book) instead of the first one?

Could you clarify what you mean by using the second layout?

Hi, I'm sorry, I misunderstood things, haha. I thought that the "history image" was a way to use the textbox in other position, so the texts appear as letters in a book page.

Hi again! now a new question :)

Can I change the colors of these images, your licenses aloud that?

Hi, yes, you can modify them however you want ^^

Hi! I'm very much confused and maybe blind... to be honest I can't see the gallery code... can you perhaps, tell me where it is? Thank you!!

They're in game -> gallery

thank youuuu <3

So what is the license? MIT?

(+1)

To be completely honest I have no idea how licenses work. People can use my stuff however they want, credit, not credit, I don't really care, it's just for fun.

If you want open the mind, you can read it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-source_license

hello I really love your guis, i wonder if you can commission GUIs?

Hi, I replied to your email

I’d like to know what font you use for the text in the pictures, please and thank you (I love this template so I appreciate you)

Hi, it's Morris Roman Alternate Black, it's included in the gui/font folder ^^

Thanks, also I found it, I looked online for fantasy fonts that matched it lol. I’m sort of slow lol

Great pack, but any tips on getting rid of the music? My build crashes without them :/

(+2)

Remove the "define audio" and "play music" lines from the script.rpy and comment out the "define config.main_menu_music" line in the options.rpy

Worked! Thank you

Wow, making a dnd-themed VN and this, along with your sorcerer sprites, are literally so nice and fit it perfectly. Thank you so much for making them, and especially for making them free for us!!

Would you be able to share the .psd of the book menu? I’d like to reposition the tabs a bit.

Hi! I'll se what I can do. I made this in illustrator and it seems to have problems with converting it to .psd (no idea why) and I can't share the .ai file since I used some non-free brushes (cuz I'm dumb). Hopefully I'll have more time on the weekend and get the .psd ready somehow
Sorry for the trouble ://

Not a problem! I understand if it’s not possible so no worries if it becomes an unreasonable ask.

As an aside, this  menu is beautiful and I can tell you put a lot of care into it.

epic

How do I change the gallery names? "Ulric, Alice," etc,

(+1)

Hi! In the gui/button folder I've included two blank buttons (idle and hover). Open them in an image editing program that supports text. After writing on them whatever you want, save them in the same gui/buttons folder with the same name as the button you want to change. For example the 'Alice' button's filename is gallerybutton4_idle.png for the idle version and gallerybutton4_hover.png for the hover version. So you'd want to use these filenames when you save your custom button and it'll override the template.

Seriously amazing quality. I'll let you know when my game is ready!

This looks amazing, Im a bit new to this so Im sorry if this is a dumb question, buut how do I use it and add it to my game?

Could you send me an e-mail? If you're a complete beginner I don't think I can write up a full general explanation (it's exam week and my brain is ded sorry haha) it'd be easier if I could ask for specifics (without making a hunded-comment long thread). It's skolaztika@outlook.hu

okie dokie thank you <3

I just want to thank you for this UI! I made a game for Historically Accurate Game Jam 5 and this fit perfectly (and also made it a lot easier to get it finished on time). :) <3

Thank you for using it! ^^ I never thought how it could fit a real historical setting too but I guess half the fun of making assets is seeing how people use them in creative ways
Good luck on the game jam ^^

It's going very well in the Jam actually, and I think an important part in that is the gorgeous UI that allowed me to focus on the writing instead of designing, lol. :) Out of curiosity, are you available for commission? For example if I need something made for a future game?

(+1)

I'm glad to hear it :D
Yes, I'm available, feel free to hit me up if you need something ^^ My contact details should be in the readme file.

Wonderful, thank you! 😊 I’ll definitely be in touch in the future!

Hi!

Sent you an e-mail, just so you know. :) Thanks!

What the hell, this is free? Thank you

Trying it out, buying if I use it :)

No need to buy it, you may use it for free however you wish :)

WHOA! The game menu being a cool book like that is something I wish I had sooner! It's SO cool! Thank you!
